Service Repair Order Policies and Procedures

While all BANG & OLUFSEN products are built to last and designed for many years of enjoyment – a little tender loving care and maintenance may be required to keep your product running smoothly. If this is the case, we are here to help with the repair, renovation & rebuild of your vintage BANG & OLUFSEN products.

Below is a quick overview of our showroom’s policies for non-warranty repair and procedures on how we efficiently handle repairs.

Out Of Warranty Repair

DIAGNOSTICS FEE | A USD 500.00 service diagnostics fee per item (excluding applicable taxes) is charged when dropped off and is applied to any balance due for approved services performed.

PROPOSAL | A written service repair estimate will be provided to the client explaining the repairs necessary and, in some instances, recommended repairs. The service repair estimate will include the cost (parts and labour) required to return the unit to good working condition. Any service-related costs are due upon receipt and acceptance of said estimate. Repairs will not commence without successful account settlement.

PROPOSAL REJECTION | Unit will be returned to the showroom in an unrepaired state should the client reject the proposed estimate. The client will accept the service diagnostics fee and be responsible for all shipping and insurance costs from the service centre to the showroom. The unit will be available for pickup at the showroom, or we can assist in making arrangements for shipping to the client – at the client’s expense and responsibility.

LEAD-TIME | All service cases are reviewed on a first-come-first-served basis, and as spare parts are ordered from Denmark, please allow for a total lead time of six to eight weeks from acceptance of the service repair estimate. The expected repair lead time will be communicated to the client as part of the service repair estimate.

SERVICE COMPLETED | All completed service repairs must be picked up by the client (or other arrangements made) within thirty days of return from the service centre to avoid storage fees. Shipping to the client (at the client’s own risk and expense) may be arranged by the showroom.

STORAGE FEES | If the client or other shipping arrangements do not collect a service item are made, the showroom reserves the right to assess the client with storage fees individually determined by weight and volume. The credit card on file for the service repair will automatically be charged every month for a maximum of six months – after which the service item is recycled, and the client releases all ownership of the unit. At the same time, the showroom will make every effort to offer safe and secure storage for all service items. We cannot be held responsible for any damage during this time.

SERVICE WARRANTY | Products repaired by our authorized service centre are covered by warranty for six months from the return from the service centre unless otherwise noted as part of the service repair estimate.
